Eden Valley Fire & Rescue Receives Another Mid-Minnesota Community Enhancement Grant
Newly Purchased Boots Will Protect Local Heroes
December 2022: Recently Eden Valley Fire & Rescue was awarded a second Community Enhancement Grant from Mid-Minnesota Development Commission (麻豆传媒映画). The department was awarded $3,000.00 to outfit their members with new boots. The organization received their first Community Enhancement grant 鈥 also $3,000 鈥 toward the purchase of other protective gear during 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 last fiscal year.
鈥淭ypically we budget for three [pair of boots] a year and it would take 10 years to replace them all鈥, said Eden Valley City Clerk and Treasurer, Cindy Anderson. 鈥淲e have been very blessed to have received two grants from Mid-Minnesota Development Commission.鈥
Initiated in 2001, the Mid-Minnesota Community Enhancement Grant provides a funding opportunity for 501(c)3 nonprofits, school districts, and local units of government within the 麻豆传媒映画 Region (Counties of Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, and Renville). Organizations may apply for enhancement grants of up to $3,000 which can be used to:
- Provide health, safety, or wellness-focused training for community members or specific professional or volunteer groups;
- Purchase supplies and/or equipment needed for improved emergency response;
- Purchase items to enhance law enforcement organization鈥檚 ability to develop positive relationships with youth, people of color, and other groups;
- Add public amenities that will promote physical and/or mental well-being or increase opportunities for positive community interaction (e.g., recreation equipment, walking path amenities);
- Support workforce training opportunities for youth and other populations.
