Pennock Lions Club Receives Mid-Minnesota Community Enhancement Grant
Club Uses Funds to Purchase AED for Pennock Community Center
March 2023: Recently, the Pennock Lions Club was awarded a Mid-Minnesota Community Enhancement Grant from Mid-Minnesota Development Commission (麻豆传媒映画). The club received $1,080 and leveraged locally raised Lions Club funds to purchase an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator (AED) for the City of Pennock鈥檚 Community Center.
鈥淏eing in a rural area, if someone suffers a heart attack or another medical situation, it can take some time for an ambulance to reach us鈥, said Pennock Lions Club Secretary Lisa Grindberg. 鈥淗aving an AED in our community could potentially save someone鈥檚 life while they wait for the ambulance. The Lions Club is very thankful we were able to make this project happen for the Community.鈥
鈥溌槎勾接郴 is thrilled to provide the Lions Club and the Pennock Community with his modest, grant鈥, said 麻豆传媒映画 Executive Director Eric Day. We hope they never need the AED unit but we鈥檙e certainly happy to know it鈥檚 there and that they鈥檙e now better prepared for a cardiac emergency.鈥
Initiated in 2021, the Mid-Minnesota Community Enhancement Grant provides a funding opportunity for 501(c)3 nonprofits, school districts, and local units of government within the 麻豆传媒映画 Region (Counties of Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, and Renville). Organizations may apply for enhancement grants of up to $3,000 which can be used to:
- Provide health, safety, or wellness-focused training for community members or specific professional or volunteer groups;
